The objective of this course is to provide an introduction to the theoretical and computational issues involved in managing information in a computerized system. The objectives of this course are to introduce theoretical, computational, and practical issues involved in managing information in a computerized system. The course introduces theoretical and computational methods for information generation, modeling, transmission, processing, storage, and analysis. These methods and topics, mostly algorithmic in nature, explore the links between the critical constructs of information science and technology.
This course is intended to prepare students to understand, design, develop and use computational methods in information sciences and technology. We will explore the practices, issues and theoretical foundations of organizing and analyzing information and information content.
